Gluten-Free Teriyaki Sauce

While a few of the teriyaki sauces available in stores are gluten-free, the vast majority of them contain gluten. Save yourself the aggravation of looking for a gluten-free teriyaki sauce (not to mention the added expense of it) by making your own. This quick and easy recipe is sure to become a go-to.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup gluten-free tamari (naturally-brewed soy sauce)

  • 2 Tbsp honey or syrup

  • 2 Tbsp finely grated fresh gingerroot OR 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1-2 large cloves garlic, finely minced OR 1-2 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice or vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
     

Directions: 
 

Place all ingredients into a clean mason jar. Secure the lid tightly on the top of the jar. Shake vigorously to mix thoroughly. When ready to use, give the jar another shake.

This sauce can be used in stir-fried dishes and makes a wonderful marinade for steak. The recipe can be easily halved, doubled or even tripled. Keep in the refrigerator and shake vigorously before using.
